Obama's "Modest" Self Evaluation

CBS interviewed Obama. They will air the interview on Sunday and Monday morning. These quotes help reveal the depth and scope of the president's admitted detachment from the American people.

"When I think about what we've done well and what we haven't done well, the mistake of my first term - couple of years - was thinking that this job was just about getting the policy right."

"And that's important. But the nature of this office is also to tell a story to the American people that gives them a sense of unity and purpose and optimism, especially during tough times."

Gee, telling us a story of unity?  So far, Obama's just right policy has led to higher unemployment, dramatic increase in alienation and a sense of class warfare.  The former strength of the nation -- the sense you could change your position in the social structure -- has largely evaporated, along with employment prospects.  Obama continued

"It's funny - when I ran, everybody said, 'well he can give a good speech but can he actually manage the job?'  And in my first two years, I think the notion was, 'Well, he's been juggling and managing a lot of stuff, but where's the story that tells us where he's going?' And I think that was a legitimate criticism."

Yeah, funny....  Some of us listened before you were elected and figured out where you were going.

"So getting out of this town, spending more time with the American people, listening to them, and also, then, being in a conversation with them about where do we go together as a country, I need to do a better job of that in my second term."

"Hope and Change" was bad.  Hope was empty and change meant only Obama didn't like what we had.  We had enough.  Not anymore.  The new Obama slogan, "Forward," is even worse. Obama is oblivious to the nation crying out.
