"You didn’t build that" - Obama

Obama attacks the American Dream

The American Dream is that with enough hard work, you can have a better life for you and yours.  The corollary to the American Dream is the government will not, and can not, take your better life from you.

As of Friday the 13th, Comrade Obama is setting up to take the Dream away.

Never before has Obama made his socialist perception so clear.  He explained that individual accomplishment does not matter -- you owe socialism.  Speaking on his proposed tax for those who make more than $250,000 per year....

"There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me because they want to give something back.  If you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there.  It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something -- there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there."

He went on to explain that everyone is in society.  He gets confused and thinks because you did not grow up an island unto yourself, you still owe socialism your very best effort.

"If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen,” he said. “The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet."

Mr Obama: You should know the people who make an extra effort do so because they get extra reward.  Take away that reward and their effort disappears.  Socialism does not work because humans do not work that way.

The biggest difference between a successful person and the rest is the successful person is not reliant on government handout.

What Mr Obama forgets is government promotes lots of useless things too.  If there were no private-for-profit users of government sponsored  inventions, those inventions would not matter. Without successful private enterprise, big government is a loser.

~~~~~~~~
Obama forgets that the internet was not initially developed for the public but for the military, as a method of battlefield communication.
What he also forgets was that the bulletin board users of the early microcomputer movement developed and tested many of the protocols DARPA went on to use for its web.
Obama suffers from the myopia of too much belief in government micromanagement.
~~~~~~~~
The eye is not a finger, but that doesn't make the eye any less a part of the body.  But which is more important, the eye or the finger?  Some parts of the body are more important than others.

Obama makes the rationale that there is no need to reward those who work harder, those who are more talented or those just plain brilliant.  Obama's intellectual model of society does not require that anyone excel.  In Obama's society were all equally drab.

If that's so, the excellent people don't have to work - they can sponge off of anyone who is forced to work.  The brilliant artists can put down their paint brushes, the intelligent engineers can let someone else do the work.  Its all the same, so who cares?  Let the government do it, and we can all suffer for the lack of excellence.

Obama revealed himself a dreadfully dull visionary
