Maybe "liberal" mayors will change their minds

Oakland, CA
Vandals deface home of Oakland mayor -- Her honor Elizabeth Beckman "Libby" Schaaf, (D) answered by breaking a tie in the city council and voting to stop yet another cut to the police department.  Just another "fiberal" mayor you say?  (SFGate)  (FOXNews)

Chicago, IL
Hundreds of "protesters" gather outside Chicago mayor, Lori Lightfoot’s home --- demanding, of all things, that she defund the police.  (Washington Examiner)

Seattle, WA
Back in June, Seattle's mayor Jennifer Durkin sort of started this trend by tolerating the CHAZ/CHOP zone.  She collapsed under pressure to do her job and restore order.  The mayor ordered re-occupation of the Capitol Hill Police precinct building.

In retaliation, Seattle city Communist council member Kshama Sawant led an attack on the mayor's house (KING 5).  So the mayor Durkan asks city council to investigate the council member Sawant.

You have to wonder if this sort of power struggle between politicians has any place in a democracy.  It already has cost employment as high value jobs are leaving the city (KTAR News).  How fair is it to the people of Seattle if they  get to sit still, become poorer, and feel unsafe?
