Ban guns to control the people....

Mr Obama is determined to ban guns, no question.  He has even offered to seize unlimited dictatorial power to do it.

No where does the US Constitution permit the President such power as the right to ban guns.  The Constitution forbids any branch government to interfere with the right of the people to be armed.

 Many gun grabbers explain the right to bear arms is not unlimited.  For certain individuals this is true.  But the right to be armed cannot be denied to the whole people on the grounds a few psychotics have acted badly.  If anything, the psychotics' actions in public are an indictment of the government charged with keeping us safe.

The US constitution allows the president to make orders to carry out an act of Congress, at his executive discretion, as part of the necessary "wiggle room" required to make government function.  Executive orders are implicitly under the control of Congress.

Mr Obama has already raised the Constitutional stakes on this presidential power by spinning fresh law out of whole cloth. Witness Obama's overrreach to control of internet content during national emergency.

The National Rifle Association met with the vice President Joe Biden, to discuss ways to reduce violent crime.  Biden decided to put on a show of disregard for the NRA and the American public, and rambled on about how to ban guns.  The NRA issued this release:

Fairfax, Va. – The National Rifle Association of America is made up of over 4 million moms and dads, daughters and sons, who are involved in the national conversation about how to prevent a tragedy like Newtown from ever happening again. We attended today's White House meeting to discuss how to keep our children safe and were prepared to have a meaningful conversation about school safety, mental health issues, the marketing of violence to our kids and the collapse of federal prosecutions of violent criminals.

We were disappointed with how little this meeting had to do with keeping our children safe and how much it had to do with an agenda to attack the Second Amendment. While claiming that no policy proposals would be “prejudged,” this Task Force spent most of its time on proposed restrictions on lawful firearms owners - honest, taxpaying, hardworking Americans. It is unfortunate that this Administration continues to insist on pushing failed solutions to our nation's most pressing problems. We will not allow law-abiding gun owners to be blamed for the acts of criminals and madmen. Instead, we will now take our commitment and meaningful contributions to members of congress of both parties who are interested in having an honest conversation about what works - and what does not."

The people will suffer if Mr Obama bans their method of self-defense.  The people suffer under abusive government, therefore we have the right to keep and bear arms.

Under the Second Amendment.

"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

The militia is a body of armed civilians.  There is no requirement for a regular government body to control the militia, that is, the militia are self-regulating, when the people see a common need to act as a n armed body.

The People, freely acting in common interest, is the state of freedom, or "free state"as in the amendment language.  Legitimate government is based on the consent of the people who are governed.  The only reason why the People would need to be armed in defense of freedom is because government has become oppressive.

The first freedom an oppressive government would seek to complicate is the right to be armed.   If  Mr Obama should try to make an executive edict out of his power to implement the laws of Congress, Mr Obama must be sent to prison.
