The CDC has recalculated the number of COVID 19 deaths -- 94% of the dead were not killed by COVID 19. The old method of calculating cause-of-death assumed that if the dead person had been exposed tod COVID 19, that person died of COVID 19. This was actually true for only 6% of the mortality attributed to COVID 19.
The
CDC's former working assumption meant they considered the truck parked
on the infected victim's chest had nothing to do with counting cause of
death. Obviously this is a defective method. COVID 19 is not as deadly
as the panic media would have us believe.
COVID 19 is a
potentially deadly disease -- no one wants to catch it or pass it on.
Exaggeration is bad for reasoned public policy. We the People need to know
how dangerous it is.
In order not to exaggerate, we need to ask the question, how many of the COVID 19 positive who have died, would have died of COVID 19 if something else didn't kill them first? But there is no way to know this for sure. Some of the dead died of serious illness and theirs are not legitimately counted as COVID 19 deaths. Those numbers are somewhat separated out for us as "excess death"at the CDC (COVID excess death CDC). You should look at the CDC data directly. It seems to indicate the excess death rate is very low.
The statement of revision of comorbidity from the CDC website:
"Table 3 shows the types of health conditions and contributing causes
mentioned in conjunction with deaths involving coronavirus disease 2019
(COVID-19). For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned.
For deaths with conditions or causes in addition to COVID-19, on
average, there were 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death. The
number of deaths with each condition or cause is shown for all deaths
and by age groups.

So let's revise the number of dead in the USA from COVID 19. As of this morning, there were 187,479 dead (Worldometer) who had COVID 19. That figure should be recalculated as 11,249 who actually died of COVID 19. Other victims had the disease, but they did not die of it. They died of cancer, vehicle collision, or another, more aggressive health problems.
