Benefits from the COVID relief are supposed to be around $3,000; the cost will be around $40,000. That makes this government handout's net cost of about $37,000 per beneficiary. The whole relief bill will cost 12 times as much as it benefits people. The deception of government handouts is in high relief.
This gives depth to the old maxim, "That government governs best which governs least." We would be in better condition if we didn't get so much "relief" from the government.
