Illicit "Democracy"

In an attempt to silence the people,  Nancy Pelosi is plotting to corrupt democracy and toss out the election (MSN) of Mariannette Miller-Meeks in a fake disciplinary maneuver.  How does Pelosi's plot against the People work?

The United States Constitution (Article I, Section 5, Clause 2) provides that "Each House [of Congress] may determine the Rules of its proceedings, punish its members for disorderly behavior, and, with the concurrence of two-thirds, expel a member."

The Constitutional context is that the Congress ought to discern and determine if the election of a member is democratic and valid.  The Constitution does not allow Congress to determine the fitness of the elected member based on politics or social acceptability.

Pelosi is attempting to remove Ms Miller-Meeks based on the  political fitness.  Miller-Meeks would be an impediment to the advancement of the American Democrat Party leftward movement.

Democrat Dean Phillips tweeted “Losing a House election by six votes is painful for Democrats. But overturning it in the House would be even more painful for America. Just because a majority can, does not mean a majority should” (Washington Examiner).

From the Wall Street Journal editorial board: … as the reality of Mrs. Pelosi’s Iowa bloody-mindedness sets in, vulnerable Members are facing questions. On Monday Politico listed four Democratic Congressmen who have spoken publicly against reversing Iowa’s election in the last week. Another said anonymously that expelling Ms. Miller-Meeks would be “political malpractice. While we would gain one seat, we would lose a lot more next year” (WSJ).
