Biden Pushes to Ban "Assault Weapons"

Give them an inch and they take your guns.

President Biden on Monday capped off a celebration of a recently passed bipartisan gun safety law with a call to take further action, including a ban on assault weapons. 

Biden spoke to a crowd of hundreds of lawmakers, advocates and relatives of gun violence victims on the South Lawn of the White House to mark the passage and signing last month of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act in the wake of a school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, that left nearly 20 children dead. 

At the end of his remarks, Biden said more needed to be done, focusing in particular on the availability of "high-powered" weapons (The Hill).

"Assault weapons need to be banned," Biden said while calling for authoritarian "common sense" measures (CBS  - Twitter).

Biden Monday: "None of what I’m talking about infringes on anyone’s Second Amendment rights…I support the Second Amendment." Biden lied.  Moments later he said "Assault weapons need to be banned…I’m determined to ban these weapons again…" (Townhall on Twitter).

Biden's so-called Assault Weapons Ban had no positive effect on the American murder rate

"In relation to a 2001 study the National Research Council in 2005, stated "evaluation of the short-term effects of the 1994 federal assault weapons ban did not reveal any clear impacts on gun violence outcomes."

"A book published by John Lott in 1998 found no impact of these bans on violent crime rates. Koper, Woods, and Roth studies focus on gun murders, while Lott's look at murder, rape, robbery, and aggravated assaults. Unlike their work, Lott's research accounted for state assault weapon bans and twelve other different types of gun control laws.

But Biden's Assault Weapon Ban did compromise the American Second Amendment civil right to be armed.  Since Mr Biden and the gun control crowd can see into the past,m they all already know that gun bans do nothing to protect people.  Gun bans are criminal acts.
