Public policy cannot be based on wishful thinking

Public policy cannot be based on wishful thinking.  That is a sure road to public disaster

For example, Obamacare resulted in a mass exodus of manufacturing, especially of consumer goods, automotive parts, medicines and drugs.  Increasing the cost of labor in these fields with the inflexible ObamaCare taxes made domestic production olf them untenable.  We lost those fields of endeavor, including the types of skills those fields used to give American workers.

Were these unforeseen consequences?  Or were the leftist politicians actually in favor of debasing America?  More sinister theory yet, is there is the possibility that American politicians were under the influence of Chinese government agents?

Democracy is more than a process.  Elitists use the word 'democracy' not govern the people but to rule them.  Good public morals are never served.  Good government must represent the the best interests of all the people, not just a slim majority.  If a minority's interests are minimized or ignored, there is something unfair about the government's actions.  Then democracy becomes an empty shell; a protective concealment for despotism.

"I returned and saw under the sun that—the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all. For man also does not know his time: like fish taken in a cruel net, like birds caught in a snare, so the sons of men are snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly upon them."
