If the "Bush tax cuts" expire at the end of the year, tax rates for every bracket will increase. It's not just the wealthy who will be impacted -- the middle class will find itself being squeezed as well.
Tax on dividends will jump from 15% to 39.6%. Capital gains, 15% to 20%. And the death tax will be given new life at 55%.
The child credit shrinks and the marriage penalty gets worse -- war on the average American family?
If you work hard -- whether you're a billionaire, a small-business owner, or a cashier -- the Obama government wants to squeeze everything it can out of you.
At worst everyone will suffer tax increases.
And at best, they'll extend the cuts for households earning less than $250,000 per year but let the cuts expire for those earning more. And this is still an assault on your average middle- to upper-middle class family.
If you run a small business earning $250,001, you're taxed the same as a movie star making $25 million a film!
There's just no difference between the hard-working middle- to upper-middle class family and the very rich in the eyes of your government.

Resist - Never Give Up!
The Democrats are now poised to impose the biggest tax in history. $1.068 Trillion per year. For "free" health care. And the health care part doesn't start until 2013. This is why the Demos say health care is a budget positive.

A trillion dollar tax will destroy the recovery. The resulting economy will be entirely command driven. The market is getting a death blow. Watch for Wall Street to finally figure out Obama is the enemy about mid-May.
The Democrats claim the economy needs for people to be insured by force. The Democrats claim this is a "compassionate" move. The Democrats have evil in their minds and sewerage in their hearts.

The Democrazies know this will get them unelected and they will most likely lose control of the Congress. But they know they solidly control the Press and the government union (SEIU) big bosses. Combined, that is a big mouthpiece.
The economic downturn caused by the Demos massive destruction will require a lot of political muscle to correct. On top of that, the communist 'mainstream' Press and the SEIU will harp constantly that the Republicans caused the very economic mess the Demos caused. Lies have always worked well for the Left.
We need to remember the economic downturn started during the Democratic Party control of the Congress, where laws are made. George Bush was President, and he idiosyncratically signed all the Demos destructive bills into law. New Tone. Ha!
We need to immunize ourselves against hearing and noise from the authoritarian Left. They caused the blight for their own power. We can fix, for us and for them. Freedom is a public good. We must all be free, or none of us are.

From the front lines
It's okay to waste plastic and paper if it's wasted because it's bad to waste it. Ow.Primary season here in the Left Coast. Bob-1 files a report:
Rather interesting election results last night. Mayor (billions of) Nickels didn't even make it out of the primary; the leader is - for Seattle anyway - relatively sane. Same goes for Kink Co Exec.
And Seattle Referendum 1, the 20 cent paper & plastic bag tax, got slaughtered 58% no to 42% yes. Ironically, despite the claims of the huge amounts of "Big Oil" cash poured against the ref by the pro folks (and left repeatedly in prerecorded fashion on my phone over the last few days) I never received any "anti" calls. Guess "Big Moonbat" had even more cash...
Or might have just been the insane yard sign campaign by the pro-tax folks.

The economy is still sputtering...
A dry discussion of economics of Leftist ineptitude.
Employment is down. Private spending is down. What happened?
Private spending is down because of missteps in the credit formation regulation. These missteps happened when the Democrat Party took over the Congress in 2006 and began to enact bad law. The Congress restricted new money creation rules, drying up all the bank cash. Then banks began to fail.
To be fair, this crunchy regulation may have been done in response to the sense too much credit was created. Far more likely it it was because of criminal clumsiness in the House Banking and Finance Committee and its new chair, Barney Frank.
When credit is damaged this way, the right thing to do is sponsor more private credit creation. The Obama government did exactly the wrong thing by going into the private market and borrowing trillions of dollars for pet projects rather than letting the people who needed to borrow money borrow it. All the paste on aid to distressed borrowers is not going to help if the government completely offsets it with elimination of credit.
Is it mere clumsiness or something else? Mr Obama has entered the credit market several times to eliminate credit and scare banks with new regulations. What the party controlled press spins to sound like nifty updating of banking practice regulation has in fact been piles of new reports and micromanagement.
Given that Mr Obama is hostile to free enterprise like the ghost of GM, the defunct Chrysler, soon to expire US Steel, banks of all flavors... this bodes poorly in the near term for large companies in the US. Except for Mr Obama's pets like General Electric.
At this time, the worst thing the Government could do is enact a tax. A tax would suck more money out of the pockets of the people when they need it most. So that is exactly what the Obama Government will do. The Carbon Tax, cap and trade, is a horrific tax increase in the neighborhood of a quarter of a trillion dollars. Around $227,000,000,000.
This reflects Mr Obama's mistrust of individual people and their ability to make sound financial decisions. This mistrust is the essence of Leftism. The Leftist believes people should have no say in their daily lives, so government should regulate every aspect of personal freedom. Mr Obama's policy proposals have all reflected this viewpoint so far. There is no reason to expect he will change.
Today's unemployment figures matched the highest unemployment figures in 26 years. That unemployment rate was caused by the Carter Malaise. Already, Mr Obama's government has equaled the worst, most careless, previous president in history. And Mr Obama's answer is for more of the same.
The question is, how much will we take? When do we say enough! and find some way to rebel. Sooner will be better than later. The sooner we stop the madness, the sooner we can begin to restore the world.

Why do these Leftists suffer such bloated egos? Why do they think there little cadres of elitists can plan to promote general welfare better than the general public. Its a question of incentive. Who has more interest in whether you do well, you or I? Who will be charged up to do a better job of seeing to your own interest? You. Naturally. But in the Leftist mindset, you are too Stupid, Rank, Uninformed, Illiterate, Disinterested, and plainly Despicable to be trusted to hold up your end of the bargain. So they feel no qualm about screwing you.
Big Government micromanagement is always a bad idea. Government screws up. There is no incentive to get it right the first time, since government runs on taxes, not sales. The best a government can do is waste. Some functions, like military, are naturally suited to government: Military is designed to kill people and break things. That character is innate to government. A micromanaging Big Government will kill us with health care and break our economy.

Mr Obama's Tax Increases
$2.4 Trillion: The overall tax increase faced by American families, seniors and businesses when the Bush era tax cuts expire.
$2 Trillion: Mr Obama's new "green" ("greedy Obama" is more like it) energy use taxes.
$91 Billion: The cost of reinstating the Death Tax.
$17.2 Billion: The amount spent in 2008 by Congress on frivolous "pork" projects that use taxpayer funds to reward local special interests and pressure groups.
$3,637: The tax hike, on average, that 26 million small business owners will be facing when the tax cuts expire.
$2,034: The average tax increase that will hit 17 million seniors when the tax cuts of 2001 and 2003 expire.
$1,716: The average tax increase for over 100 million Americans when the Bush era tax cuts expire.
$1,480: The average cost in 2000 for couples punished by the Marriage Penalty. The Marriage Penalty was eliminated during the Bush era.
The human toll:
44,000,000 married couples hit when Marriage Penalty is reinstated by the Leftist controlled Congress and Mr Obama. Do you still wonder why marriage is on the decline in the United States?
The economic toll:
8,300,000 jobs created after the tax cuts of 2003. Re-installing those taxes will cost at least this many jobs.
