The deadline is in two weeks: no more 100-watt incandescent light bulbs. Congress has switched off the lights.
Light Bulb Addict
I have switched to LEDs. They cost $15 each. But they give off no heat, which is what I want in summer.
For those of you who still want to buy 100-watt incandescents, I recommend these. They last 20,000 hours. They cost $2.49 each. Shipping is free (the order form says).
Bulb-O-Rama
You better place your order today.

As an optically-challenged-as-a-bat-American, I live in dread that, in my haste to fill the lamp socket liberated of its incandescent demon bulb, I might accidentally grab the fingers of a politician rather than an energy-efficient hazmat® fluorescent bulb.
I mean, how much more precious energy would I have to use removing the smell of scorched fascist from my home?
The proper watt-pious answer, in the name of energy efficient, is to shut off the heat and open the window. At least that works for dead rat smell.
