On Sunday, President Biden used the three-year anniversary of the
criminal attack in Parkland, Florida to call “on Congress to enact
commonsense gun law reforms (read "bans"), including requiring
background checks on all gun transfers, banning semi-automatics that
look scary, high-capacity magazines, and eliminating immunity for gun
manufacturers who knowingly put weapons of war on our streets.” (NRA-ILA)
Mr Biden, thanks to your party turning away while our cities are burning, we have a war on the streets. We the People need weapons to defend ourselves.
Ever ready to bypass democracy, Mr Biden considers gun restrictions through executive order.
The
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki made that clear on Tuesday when
she admitted Biden would consider signing an Executive Order if Congress
doesn’t pass the legislation the White House wants to see.
“Well,
we haven’t proposed a package at this point so it’s hard for me to make
a prediction about its likelihood of passing. But I will say that the
president is somebody throughout his career who has advocated for smart
gun safety measures. He is not afraid of standing up to the NRA,” she
explained. "He’s done it multiple times and won on background checks and
a range of issues and it is a priority to him on a personal level” (Townhall.com).
That
part about background checks is a lie. The NRA supported development
of the original background check system for new gun purchases.
Trusting the Left turned out to be a strategic blunder -- the Left made
it into a system of intrusion. Since that time, the NRA has
consistently opposed expanded background checks for transfers between
private persons, on the basis it would require steep levels of violation
of privacy.
At this time, Democrats are pushing a bill to create
a public registry of all guns that would provide the name of the gun
owner, how many firearms they own and where they store them. This
registry would be publicly accessible, probably through the internet.
This bill is designed to entice the Democrats main voter base to take up
burglary. (Washington Times).
