Carbon Tax (Again)

Oblivious to the impact of taxes on the little guy, Mr Obama has been seeking to create the cap and trade carbon tax.

Toward this end, Mr Obama decided to ignore the Constitutional requirement (US Constitution, Art 1, §7) that all bills for revenue originate in Congress. Instead he ordered the Environmental Protection Agency to initiate a new tax.

The Senate will review this illegal act on Thursday. The action is called the Murkowski resolution, Senate Joint Resolution 26. Urge your Senator to vote yes to reign in Mr Obama's illegal use of the EPA.

All we need now is huge tax increases, electricity rates skyrocketing, and a $4 per gallon federal tax on gasoline. This is what we will get if left to Mr Obama's tender mercies.

Taxing to Prosperity! Yay!

On CNBC today, a "Democratic" Party cheerleader explained Mr Obama's tax increases would lead to prosperity. After all, she reasoned, the proposed tax increases would be no greater than the tax increases during the Clinton administration. In a marvelous flourish of speciousness, she indicated the tax increases caused the Clinton era economy to improve.

Wrong, wrong and wrong.

Tax increases lead to the government taking more of your money. The only way that could lead to prosperity is if the government spends your money on you in a better way than you can.

Mr Clinton inherited a prosperous economy from the previous Bush administration, so any comparison between 1992 and now needs to bear that in mind. That economy itself was a legacy of Mr Reagan's energetic transformation of the government into a lighter burden for the people. What is interesting was the newsdroids insisted in 1992 the economy was in a horrible slump. The networks didn't come clean until after the election. The economy had been fine all along. Seems the networks needed to lie a little for their "Democratic" Party buddies. But I digress....

The tax increases of the Clinton era lead to two events. The first was an immediate decrease in economic output. The second result was a Republican majority in both houses of Congress. When Republicans got control of Congress (where the laws are made) they refused to further damage the economy and reversed some of the Demo Congress' stupid spending and tax increases. The result was an improving economy and a more closely balanced budget.

Mr Bush's "New Tone" insistence amounted to Republicans acting like a lightweight version of Democrats. In consequence, deficits mushroomed and government got poised to be more intrusive. Now Mr Obama has the nation far more in hoc than during any previous administration. Mr Obama spends credit at a rate five times that of any previous administration ever. With that much credit in use, we don't have the room for tax increases. Instead, federal spending must be cut back, way back, to Clinton era levels.

Health Care Underhaul

Expect the action to pick up. Up 'til now, all this plotting has been in secret. The "Democratic" Party is in the public phase of ramming government control of health care access down the throat of the American people. What new? Nothing.

"Higher premiums, tax increases and Medicare cuts to pay for more government. The American people know that is not reform," Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, Republican leader, said.

"Reid, D-Nev., wrote the legislation with White House aides during weeks of secretive negotiations, selecting elements from two committee-passed bills with the aim of securing the necessary 60 votes in a Senate debate that will be decisive for Obama's health care agenda."

Americans have enjoyed the best standard of living, because hard work was rewarded. Americans have enjoyed the best standard of health care, because private right has been observed.

Only when the "Democratic" Party's donors, the American Bar Association, started screwing with American medicine, things started to go bad. So the ABA whistled and the "Democratic" Party came loping with its tongue lolling out.

The rape of the American public continues.

I wanted to believe Mr Obama was decent enough to be above using someone's death to further his politics. But now he has used his dead grandmother in an attempt to squelch oppostion to his awful health care plan.

"I just lost my grandmother last year. I know what it's like to watch somebody you love, who's aging, deteriorate and have to struggle with that." Mr Obama added he objected to "the notion that somehow I ran for public office or members of Congress are in this so they can go around pulling the plug on grandma." Source
