At The Front

Military Front

Mr Obama, mired in the classic leftist fantasy, canceled the US' F-22 purchase last year. We have no advanced aircraft in development.

The rest of the world is not so stupid. Russia and India flew the Perspektivnyi Aviatsionnyi Kompleks Frontovoi Aviatsyi T-50 / Project 701 / PAK FA in January this year. The Chinese are widely rumored to be developing a stealthy fighter, the Jianjiji-X. Soon the United States, the most generous nation in the world, will lose the clout to help the world maintain peace.

Instead, we'll be sucking around with old weapons, sending our men into harm's way so they can be slaughtered. Which is like what Mr Obama is doing to parliamentary procedure, health care, and the American Constitution.

~~~~~~~~
Home Front
If the Republicans can relieve the Democrazies this November, they must establish they are truly conservative and not merely the light version of the stupid vileness Mr Obama is. They must find ways to undo the evil Mr Obama has done. So first, they should cancel all uncompleted contracts and impound all unexpended funds.
Second: Reduce the federal payroll. We already have too many bureaucrats ruining our private lives. The government should get out of the micro-management business. If the Republicans dominate the new congress, they should simply refuse to appropriate enough money to continue paying all the drudges. Count on the communist controlled press to scream nonsense like the impact of this is going to fall unfairly on women and the poor.
Finally, the Republicans ought to investigate who got the extraordinary trillions in the Obama budget: Who are the new guys? Are they possible money laundries used to stuff Demo-buddies pockets? First Suspicion: Did SEIU get any "little extras" directly from government coffers? They have been very supportive of government takeovers. There are other new guys like the Employee Benefits Research Institute. I don't know if those guys have done anything, but EBRI seem odd to me, and they are in WA DC. What are other new guys doing?
The possibilities for breathtaking fraud in the Obama administration are legendary. Repairs are going to take years. Our work is cut out for us.
Green Hydropower, Obama Hates You.
Obama Administration Opens Door to Snake River Dam Removal
This item is from Congressman Doc Hastings
The Obama Administration's Columbia River salmon recovery biological opinion (BiOp) plan was released today. Congressman Doc Hastings - an outspoken defender of the Northwest's clean, renewable hydropower dams - says the Administration has delivered just what dam removal extremists have been demanding. Congressman Hastings serves as the top Republican on the House Natural Resources Committee, which has jurisdiction over both endangered fish recovery and federal hydropower dams.
"The Obama Administration has put dam removal back on the table and delivered just what dam removal extremists have been demanding. No one should be fooled by talk of dam removal as a last resort when the Obama Administration is immediately launching studies and plans for such action.
"The extremists who brought this lawsuit may be critical about this plan because dam removal wasn't delivered on a silver platter with promises of wrecking balls arriving next week, but they got what they wanted from the Obama Administration and they'll try and convince Judge Redden to give them even more.
"For the past many months, I've restrained my public comments on the Obama Administration's review of the salmon recovery plan for the Columbia River due to the hope they'd recognize the terrible economic toll that dam removal would have on the Northwest in the form of higher energy prices and thousands of lost jobs, and all for an extreme action that science hasn't shown would lead to fish recovery.
"I warned the Obama Administration that opening the door to dam removal even just a crack would incite dam removal extremists to keep fighting and divert time, attention and resources away from real solutions to recover salmon.
"It was only after dam removal was taken off the table by the prior Administration that the region experienced an unprecedented level of collaboration and broad agreement on a fish recovery plan that is grounded in science and not politics.
"The Obama Administration's resurrection of dam removal has likely doomed the Northwest to years and years of fighting off attacks on our dams.
"It is such a sad, terrible waste that this battle is being reignited, but let there be no doubt that we'll fight to save our dams in every way we can. These dams are here to stay."
Monster Debt Slavery
Mr Obama's White House calmly announced National Debt would grow to 75% of GDP over the next ten years [The Star, also The Economic Times of India]. Plan for disaster courtesy this Democratic Party Administration
It finally happens. We are sold into slavery, and by Democratic Party operatives. Democratic my eye.
Debt accumulation like this violates the fundamental assumption of free society. We have government to secure the blessing of liberty for ourselves, as preamble to the American Constitution says it. These authoritarian politicians violate it.
And Liberty dies during the sound of the thunderous applause.
~~~~~~~~~

There is more than just an end to political freedom. Some will starve in the disorder. The sober Bob Livingston wrote about the coming disaster:

"As the U.S. Federal deficit grows beyond the current historic levels there will come a time when a correction comes. A devaluing of the dollar has already begun. It will be followed by inflation that could become so severe that food and other necessities become unaffordable or unattainable.

"It is happening right now in Latvia, where the government’s current budget deficit is estimated to be about 12 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP), according to the International Heritage Tribune.

"So as the Latvian government cuts wages and spending in order to bring down its deficit and qualify for a bailout from the International Monetary Fund, “Austerity is rippling down the social hierarchy, as the affluent cancel vacations, middle-class people fret about social [dissent], and Dickensian scenes of destitution multiply,” the Tribune says.

"Many of the people there can simply no longer afford to feed themselves.

"Currently, the U.S. is running a budget deficit of about 13 percent of GDP and spending almost $2 for every $1 it takes in. It doesn’t take a Pythagoras to understand that math like that doesn’t add up."

In the past America has been able to weather a storm like this one. But we had more industry in those days. We are facing a President and Congress hostile to our industry, witness the Carbon cap and tax. I am not sure we have the wherewithal to cope anymore.

President Obama and the Democrat controlled Congress are enemies of the welfare of the people.

Whacky, from whacky-terbacky?

I get some emails from the authoritarian Left. The following is an excerpt from a MoveOn.org email.

"If the shouts of the right-wing mobs are the only voices our senators and representatives hear over the recess, we'll have a hard time passing health care and clean energy legislation.

"That's why we're launching our Heat Up Congress campaign so quickly to fight back, using new technology to implement rapid response town hall turnout, organizing personal phone calls from small business leaders and donors to their representatives, running new ads, and activating an energized network of on-the-ground organizers and volunteers.

"This month could decide the future of health care and clean energy in America—and we're already one week in. If you've been sitting on the sidelines, now's the time to get involved. Talk to your neighbors, go to a town hall meeting—and today, please chip in $35 to support our work:

"–Justin, Matt, Nita, Kat and the rest of the team"

Emails....

The MoveOn.org crowd seems to have a narrow minded focus for their version of reality. So much so they are apparently mobilizing the base with scare tactics.

The sense in the email is MoveOn.org are the only ones who hold a normal view and all others are deviant so must be suppressed... that seems current among the Left. Striking how well that fits the definition of paranoia.

I wonder if this comes from over-indulgence in drugs. That seems to be a common source of delusional behavior. Dunno.

~~~~~~~~
I should point out what MoveOn calls clean energy is really hyper-taxed energy use. We the people will pay through the nose so government droids can spend like drunken bums on their buddies and pet projects. That's corruption, isn't it?
I should also point out we are talking about the future of health care, i.e. whether we the people will be able to control how much health care we get. I would rather have personal control over my personal health than hand over the control to some government bureaucrat. MoveOn's notion that I am a cookie-cut robot of the far right only serves to justify their impersonal plans for my health care. No, thank you... and don't try to shove it down my throat.
~~~~~~~~

A note to Paul -

Please accept my sympathy that your relative had health provision problems. Problems will only get worse under Mr. Obama's plan. Keep in mind I presume no one not 'political class' intentionally distorts the truth. But politicians lie. Its part of the job description.

The point is, if you think private company bureaucrats can be uncaring and indifferent, you ain't seen nuthin' yet.

There is an insult in your remarks. Tea Baggers and Birthers? Lessee, that is one from the overtaxed working class and one from the far out Hillary support crowd... so they're keeping company these days? Always remember that complaining, even by such a diverse group as they, is always patriotic. Even if it your party getting the barbed end.

There is an emotional disconnect. Hating George Bush is a poor endorsement of Mr Obama's policies, and is cheap. The suggestion that someone else did it somehow justifies the current insanity is unsound reasoning. Fer Heaven's sake, don't say the Repellicians do it, therefore the Democreeps are justified. Sorry, but that's stupid.

Perhaps you see conspiracy in the forest of private companies, each vying for you patronage. I can only predict the outcome of nationalized health care, based on every other instance in history, how compulsory government health regimentation will turn out.

Check the history.

Start with Uruguay, and don't forget the worker's paradise Soviet Union. Examine the nightmare of Cuba health care, and not the Potemkin hospitals on display for foreign journalists.

Examine page 58-59 of the current legislation, where the government will draw down all your private resources before paying your bill. Check out the Quality of Life/ End of Life question (pages 424 through 430) where if the prognosis is not for improvement, government does not pay.

Try it, you won't like it. Read the bill. http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:H.R.3200:

If you want to change the system, be sure the change is an improvement. About 80% of the allocation of this proposed bill is for administrative overhead. If you are expecting improvement to health care in this bill, you are in for a disappointment.

If this health care bill is really all about health care, why are there means tests in it? If it is going to be government pay, then have it be government pay and get out of the way. But No/ The administration's plan is more government control without any added government service.

We will all be far more screwed with this public pay than with private insurance bureaucrats. Read the bill. You can get an accurate copy at the Thomas web site Health Bill Link.

Marxism and the free market – a short explanation

Marxism and the free market – a short explanation

The theoretical difference between Marxism and the free market.

(Note: An economic theory has to include a theory of value or price. Why do things have the value the do? Why are you willing to pay a a few bucks for a gallon of gasoline, but only a few pennies for a gallon of water? After all, you can live without a gallon of gasoline, although it would be a bother. You must have water in order to live.)

Marxist theory says the value of a product comes from the amount of labor expended in making the product. If I grow tomatoes and you grow corn, under Marxism we both exert ourselves equally and the value of our product is the same. Karl gets a little vague on how this is known. The value of the product is equal to the input of labor. Presumably we sweated the same amount under the noonday sun.

Since product value equals labor under Marxism, the only way the price of a product can be different from the sum of the effort expended in making it, is if the taskmaster somehow alienates some labor from the laborer by paying less in wages than the price of the product. According to Marx, profit is alienation of labor from its value.

The shortcoming of Marxist theory of value is pretty obvious. If a ditch digger uses his hands to dig, under Marxist economics, he would output the same value of ditch as someone using a shovel. The guy using his hands is certain to expend more effort than the guy with the shovel. How do bleeding fingers produce equally valuable ditch?

Marx explained the guy with the shovel was releasing the 'congealed labor' in the shovel. Karl realized that was a stupid explanation, but it was the best he ever published. He could never explain why anyone would invent a shovel.  He fudged by saying it was the pressure of the capitalist effort to solve the problem of production, a sentence full of words but very little useful thought.

~~~~~~~~
In the free market, for example, lets say I grow tomatoes, and you grow corn. We will both have a poor diet if we don't figure something out. So I exchange some of my tomatoes for some of your corn. Because we traded, we are both better nourished. Without any additional labor, other than the small amount of effort to make the actual trade, we both profit. In the free market, exchange is the source of profit.
The free market model assumes we both have enough intelligence to trade with some care. Neither one of us trades away all we have for a morsel of the other's product. After a trade or two, we learn a pretty close approximation of what the market price is. As the trading world is wide, we start trading with other people. Some of them make plows and shovels. We both become better farmers because we use tools from people who don't farm. In the free market, invention and specialization occurs naturally.
~~~~~~~~

The free market assumes invention and specialization because people like to do what they are good at. Marxism lacks an explanation of why invention and specialization occur, since all labor is uniform. Thus a Marxist society requires directors to point society to some goal. You've heard of five year plans, Obama's czars, etc.

The actual function of directors in Marxist society is to require the people line up to socialist goals, and punish society both toward the achievement of those goals and for failure to achieve those goals.

To compare to the free market, in the free society, a person suffers only if he makes a mistake interacting with the market.

In Marxist socialism, the whole people must suffer pain all the time. The directors become oppressors of the people.
